What is one of my favorite things to photograph? Editorial styled bridals. Hands down. Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely a documentary girlie. Like I love just being a fly on the wall. But when it comes to bridals, it’s editorial all the way baby.
Back in June I had the opportunity to attend a content day hosted by the incredible Aubree Lorraine Photography. It was set at the beautiful Grand Oaks Ranch in Fredericksburg, Texas. A new wedding and event venue in the Texas hill country and every inch of it is stunning, and Erica and her family are such amazing hosts.
Content days and styled shoots are a great opportunity to try out new techniques and methods that I may not get to otherwise. I chose Aubree’s content day because I loved the concepts she chose. As soon as I saw them I knew exactly what I wanted to work on.
I’ve been really inspired by the works of Steph Fischer from From the Daisies and Kaley from Kansas. Their images are always so perfectly composed. Their use of flash, even mid-day, gives the images such an editorial feel, and I’ve really wanted to instill more of that in my own work.
The editorial styled bridals was one of my favorite concepts because I really got to play around with the sun and my flash. These were taken at about 4pm, some with and without flash, and they turned out exactly as I had pictured. Dreamy, sophisticated, editorial.
If dreamy, sophisticated, editorial styled bridals are what you’re looking for, reach out. Let’s create something incredible together.
