What’s Inside My Wedding Welcome Gift Box (And Why I Think Every Photographer Should Have One)

For Photographers

Wedding photographer welcome box

One of my favorite parts of the client experience happens long before I ever pick up my camera.

Every one of my wedding couples receives a curated welcome gift shortly after booking, and it’s honestly one of my favorite things to put together. Gift giving has always been one of my love languages, so creating something thoughtful that makes my couples feel celebrated from day one just feels natural.

Wedding planning can be exciting, overwhelming, emotional, and everything in between. My goal with this box is simple: remind my couples that they aren’t just another booking on my calendar—they’re cared for. Every item has a purpose, whether it’s practical, encouraging, or simply a little pick-me-up during the planning process.

If you’re looking to elevate your own client experience, here’s everything I include in mine.

1. A Custom Designed Gift Box

Presentation matters.

I designed my boxes to match my brand aesthetic and had them printed through VistaPrint. Before my couples even open the box, I want them to feel like they’re receiving something special. It instantly sets the tone for the experience they’ll have working with me.

2. CampSnap Camera

This might be my favorite thing in the entire box.

I include a CampSnap Camera*—a screen-free digital camera that’s designed to help people enjoy the moment instead of obsessing over getting the perfect photo.

I encourage my couples to bring it along for engagement celebrations, venue visits, date nights, bachelor and bachelorette weekends, bridal showers, and all the little moments leading up to their wedding day. It’s such a fun way to document this season of life without the pressure of social media or perfectly curated photos.

3. A Beautiful Pen

It sounds simple, but everyone needs a good pen during wedding planning.

From signing contracts and meeting with vendors to jotting down seating chart ideas or timeline notes, it becomes one of those little details that actually gets used.

4. A Sweet Treat

Wedding planning deserves snacks.

I always include a few Ferrero Rocher chocolates because they’re one of my personal favorites and feel just a little more elevated than your average candy bar. It’s a tiny addition that always gets a smile.

5. My 90-Page Wedding Welcome Guide

This is truly the heart of the welcome box.

My wedding guide is over 90 pages and walks my couples through everything they need to know before the wedding day. It covers timeline planning, engagement sessions, family photo tips, getting-ready advice, vendor recommendations, sample timelines, planning inspiration, and so much more.

The goal is to answer questions before they’re even asked so my couples can feel confident, informed, and excited throughout the planning process. Don’t know where to start with your Wedding Welcome Guide? I have a template in my Etsy shop to help get you started!

6. Custom Stickers

These are simply a fun little branding touch.

I package them separately so couples can use them however they’d like, and they help reinforce a cohesive, memorable brand experience.

7. Custom Matchbooks

I absolutely love including custom matchbooks.

They’re practical, beautifully on-brand, and photograph so well. Even if my couples never use them, they become a keepsake that reminds them of this exciting season.

The Packaging Details Matter Too

Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.

To keep everything looking polished and protected during shipping, I also include:

  • Organza bags for my wedding guide so it stays clean and protected.
  • A second organza bag for my stickers and matchbooks so the smaller pieces don’t get lost.
  • Crinkle paper in my brand colors to cushion everything while creating a beautiful unboxing experience.
  • A personalized thank-you note that walks my couples through what’s inside the box and lets them know how excited I am to be part of their wedding journey.

These details don’t seem like much, but they completely elevate the experience.
