Eclectic Christmas mini sessions have officially come and gone! Just like with my Fall Minis, I had no intentions of doing them. The setup process is a lot of work, and I am by no means a minimalist. I love an elaborate, eclectic design {if you’ve ever seen my house, you know}. This setup took 2 full days to complete with the help of 3 other people, which I definitely couldn’t have done without.
I didn’t want your basic Christmas tree and couch setup. I wanted something that felt like home. Something you and your family could come into and feel comfortable in, and all of the smiling faces that I saw that day definitely proved I accomplished just that, and y’all have no idea how happy that makes me. We read books, built puzzles, hung ornaments, and shared a lot of laughs watching the kids run around and have a good time.
I’m not going to lie, I have a love/hate relationship with mini sessions. With full sessions, you have time on your side, and the longer we’re together, the more comfortable we get with each other (especially the kids). With mini sessions it can be a little different. It can take some time for kids to warm up, but that’s also the beauty of it. Some of my favorite photographs were taken during these mini sessions, while kiddos were still not too sure about being in front of the camera.
They ended up being everything I had imagined. There will definitely be more of these styled minis in the future, and I’m already planning some more eclectic Christmas mini sessions for 2024!
